Building a Spiritual Atmosphere that is Free from Fear

Fear and faith repel each other, but which is stronger, it is the one that will prevail! The more you imagine faith—the Word of God, His promises, His goodness and His faithfulness, the more your faith will become stronger. The more you imagine fear

You are a product of your own atmosphere  and environment. Atmosphere : a mixture of life giving gases that surrounds an astronomical object like oxygen and carbon dioxide. They surround the earth. You can’t see it (like spirits) but it surrounds us and they give life. Climate: typical weather or state of the atmosphere in any given point of time like summer or winter. Environment: all external factors influencing the life and activities of people, plants, and animals, it’s the natural world wherein we exist; In the Spirit, atmosphere can be built or created through the gases (spirit which we surround ourselves with) so we can build a spiritual climate that can and will affect our environment.

To build the physical atmosphere you would need certain ingredients; likewise, you would also need certain ingredients to build a Spiritual atmosphere. The Spiritual atmosphere is what builds the Spiritual climate, and the Spiritual climate would definitely affect our environment! No matter who you are, young or old, rich or poor, educated or not, we build our own atmosphere or we allow others to build our atmosphere! The choices we make every day dictates the kind of atmosphere we build–how we face the daily circumstances of our lives, or how we allow these circumstances to dictate to us what kind of day we will have, they form the climate—good or bad!

Matt 17:5  While he was still speaking, a bright cloud  enveloped them, and a voice from the cloud said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!"

Cloud always represent the “Shekinah Glory of God,” how to build the atmosphere is how to build the cloud of God’s presence! (Glass, air, cloud!)

How do you build the cloud?

By what you say! By praise and worship, by speaking the Word, by declarations of the goodness and faithfulness of God! Whatever comes out of your mouth, good or evil, will always create a cloud—but what kind of atmosphere are you creating that will build the climate, that will affect the environment? They would all depend on what comes out of your mouth—if you stay in the old atmosphere of grumbling and complaining, you will always have a problem bringing in the presence of God!

One of the reasons why many people stay in desperation and gloom is ‘FEAR’! For so many, fear is so powerful that they are paralyzed and immobilized by their fears, they can’t even say the right words or make the right declaration for themselves because they are afraid! Many have been trapped by the enemy through fear, they now refuse to fight and all they do is cry and grumble and complain hoping someone would help them. Satan is the real source of fear, he is the real terrorist of this world—he has trapped so many for so long, it’s time to be set free, it’s time for change!

It’s an unpleasant feeling of anxiety or apprehension caused by the presence or anticipation of danger. A frightening thought or an idea that causes feelings of irrational fears . Fear came from the Old English word “calamity or danger”. Fear is to worry, it’s a concern about something that threatens to bring bad news or bad results. Being  afraid means to be frightened of somebody or something or afraid of taking action . To be afraid or to fear is an emotion that you think is protecting us from the threats in our surroundings.  It’s an emotion that every member of society deals with throughout their lives.

But let me tell you the truth about fear:

Rom 8:15  For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship.  And by him we cry, "Abba, Father."

Fear is not an emotion, it is a spirit! It’s a spirit that did not come from God but from the devil!

2 Tim 1:7  For God did not give us a spirit of timidity,  but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.

Timidity means to be fearful, to be shy, to lack courage, to be hesitant! The spirit of fear will hinder you from doing the will of God so you will commit sin—sin means to miss the mark, to not do the will of God for you!

HOW DOES FEAR ENTER A PERSONS LIFE? There Are Three Main Entry Points:

First entry point:  The Corruption Of The Human Character.

Corruption means dishonesty for personal gain, dishonest exploitation of power for self-benefit, extreme immorality, or depravity, rotting, decay. It is wickedness, evil, bribery and fraud. In simple words, it’s love for self, or self-preservation—we want to be on top at the expense of others and our own morality! When we do these things, we are opening doors for the spirit of fear to come into us, when we love only ourselves, we will always be in fear, we will always serve only ourselves.

Rom 8:21  Because the creation itself also shall be liberated from the bondage of corruption and decay into the glorious liberty of the children of God. KJV

We are in bondage when there is corruption, we are decaying because of fear, we don’t ever want to be exposed or caught in our corruption, so we lie all the time, we promote ourselves by telling of our good points and accomplishments—manipulation! Pride is also a  manifestation of fear!

Second entry point of Fear: Absence of Authority

Authority always speak of those people whom we submit to or allow to be above us. We give them honor and respect, and in return they watch over us, correcting us, even rebuking us.

Rom 13:1-4  Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear  of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. 4 For he is God's servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid,  for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.

Many times, rebellion against the authorities happen when there was verbal or physical abuse, even sexual abuse in the earlier years of your life. The one abused tends to move away because of fear, but if he is not restored or never submits again to any authority, the spirit of fear will continue to make him afraid and lose sight of who he is, he now becomes an orphan, he has no covering so becomes even more vulnerable to factors that causes more fear. People who don’t submit to authorities has the tendency to lose control of themselves—youth to parents: unwanted pregnancy, drugs, vices, even crimes and untimely death! People to the state authorities—rebellion, life of crime, imprisonment, even death.

The Third Entry Point Of Fear:  The Imagination Of Men

Imagination is the ability to form an image in one’s mind without actually seeing it with your physical eyes, or have experienced it. It is the creative part of your mind. (world of pure imagination-panaginip).Imagination is the only area of any human life that has no limits, no restrictions, and no boundaries.Imagination have eyes and it is the area where the faith of God can work; a person who lives by faith will always have a good expectation, for faith can have a projection of the image of God. By faith you are imagining what God is saying, doing, and what He has promised!

Fear is the perversion of the imagination, when the devil injects a thought of fear in you, (coming from the news or people) and you run it over and over in your head by imagining it and what might happen, then faith becomes diluted, you are scared!  A person who lives in fear gets all the images of God perverted—even questioning Gods purposes and motives. You may say “I know God can, but will He?” Words of doubt prompted by fear! Imaginations are activated by words—if you hear some good news and you imagined it, and you got excited about it, your faith was activated by the word! If someone speaks words of faith in you, then those words activated your faith!

Rom 10:17  So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. KJV

But when someone speaks fear—news of terror, coming calamity, sickness, that’s the spirit of the age imparting fear to the people, if you run it over and over in your head, it will pervert and dilute your faith, then you will be in fear! We need to understand this: we cannot live in fear! We cannot entertain negative imaginations, this will entrap you, you will be paralyzed and immobilized and will not be able to do God’s will—panic mode!

Some imaginations may seem harmless and innocent—imagining you are rich, with a big business and lots of money and lots of connection! This imaginations provoke lust and greed, and you are desiring to have them in real life, it even affects your attitude and your character cause you are role playing—“masarap mag imagine na mayaman ka!” The spirit of lust is not the spirit of fear, but if you open your imagination to lust, fear will also come in—magkukumpare kasi yan, sama-sama!. Fear is not real, it only becomes real if you believe it, but Faith is real because faith is based on a substance, the love of God and the power of God and its evidence is the “Word of God!”

The substance of a miracle is faith, for a miracle to take place, you need to have faith—fear destroys it! Fear and Faith have the same root—Fear means something bad that has not happened is going to happen, while Faith means something good that has not happened is going to happen! When you have those imaginations that you are sick, dying, being rejected, losing your job, it always boils down to the greatest fear—the fear of death! When fear comes in, all that you believe by faith will go out because fear will push them out, but when faith comes, all that you fear will go out, because faith will push them out, which is stronger in your life? Fear and faith repel each other, but which is stronger, it is the one that will prevail! The more you imagine faith—the Word of God, His promises, His goodness and His faithfulness, the more your faith will become stronger. The more you imagine fear—Isil, Isis, calamity, losing your job, weak economy, sickness, and fear becomes stronger—NEVER GIVE IN TO FEAR!

Rom 1:17  For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith."

Heb 10:38  But my righteous one will live by faith. And if he shrinks back, I will not be pleased with him."

We need to live by faith because we have already been justified, we don’t live by what the media says, or what the people says, we live by what God says! You must imagine yourself overcoming—imagining God will produce faith—we overcome by faith!

Gal 2:20  I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. KJV

Ps 91:1-6  He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. 3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.  4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. 5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; 6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. KJV

This is the time and the season of the Psalm 91 and Psalm 23 prayer! We run to Him for He is our Abba Father!

Ps 23:1 and 4 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear  no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. KJV
