The Power of Worship

David’s heart was in perfect harmony with God’s heart! He provided a throne of worship for God to stay!  He knows Him so well that He was able to connect to his source and overflow! This is the real Power of Worship! God’s mind and heart seen in your actions, in your decisions, in your stand! Allowing power to affect the heavens and the earth! It’s Him in control!

By: Pastor Ranjee Salvacion

All of us know that worship belongs only to Him- the King of kings and the Lord of lords! We all know that worship is all about the declaration of our love and adoration for Him. It is all about His worth! Who He is! Thanksgiving is the gate by which we enter TRUE and SPIRITUAL WORSHIP.  Praising God is the access by which we enter in His presence (Psalm 100:4). We have studied the depths of worship and on how God shows us the importance of a Three-Fold Progression of Maturity.

The Outer Court is where the sacrifice is offered! We should live as living sacrifice; holy and acceptable to God a pleasing aroma.  This is the area where our flesh should die. It is the Way (through Jesus Christ’ sacrifice) by which we enter into the next level.

The Holy Place stands for our emotions or the Truth. There is no place for pretentions here. Here we allow the Holy Spirit to change us and break us, readying us for the deepest place, the place of intimacy.

The Holy of Holies or the Mercy Seat is the place where all we need to do is to enter God’s perfection, the place of revelation- where His will becomes our will! The place where He shows the secrets of His heart! AN ENCOUNTER!

Only hunger and thirst attracts His presence! We also need to be sensitive again to hear God’s voice and feel His presence- we need to circumcise our hearts!

John 6:35-38 (THE MESSAGE) 35-38 Jesus said, “I am the Bread of Life. The person who aligns with me hungers no more and thirsts no more, ever. I have told you this explicitly because even though you have seen me in action, you don’t really believe me. Every person the Father gives me eventually comes running to me. And once that person is with me, I hold on and don’t let go. I came down from heaven not to follow my own whim but to accomplish the will of the One who sent me.

The word run from its word origin means flow, run together".

True Worship can only be done through the power of the Holy Spirit - the stream that dwells inside you! Flowing is a sign of life!

John 7:37-38  37On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. 38 Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”

  • flow or run over, as rivers or water:

  • to have the contents flowing over or spilling,  as an overfull container:

  • to pass from one place or part to another as if flowing from an overfull space:

  • to be filled or supplied with in great measure:

  • to flood, to flow over or beyond, flow over the edge or brim

  • Fill to the point of running over.

  • an excess or superabundance.

The Holy Spirit is our only
source of Power!

Acts 1:8a  But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you;

Luke 4:1(after Jesus’ Baptism, Temptation in the Wilderness) 1Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,

The Holy Spirit is our power source! Without connecting to the source, flowing would be impossible because there would be nothing to pass on!  The power in our worship only comes from the Spirit that lives and resides in a person –life through the Spirit is a life of worship! (Romans 12:1)

Ephesians 1:17-24  17  I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. 18  I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.22And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, 23which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.

The wisdom and revelation God is telling us here means unveiling our minds, our inner man- allowing us to grasp something that is deeper than what our eyes can see, unseen but tangible-real. Way beyond our imagination!  God wants us to have knowledge of Him which is not based on facts or ideals it is knowledge based on a first-hand experience! Only through the Holy Spirit can we access the realm of the Spirit! The very atmosphere of heaven!

Know on verse 17 is the Greek word “gnṓsis” which means knowledge gained through first-hand relationship or contact-knowledge. Verse 18, speaks of our hearts’ importance in truly seeing the way God sees things and by this we experience His “doxa” (honor, renown; glory, an especially divine quality, the unspoken manifestation of God, splendor) -His glory! The presence of God is unexplainable, too marvelous to be described!  Our Lord Jesus Christ positioned us to experience his glorious power and also to manifest it in our lives by the Spirit!

Ephesians 2:6  And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,

We should keep the Holy Spirit alive in us- PRAYER, WORSHIP AND HIS WORD!

POWER from verse 17-23 was repeated three times! Yet they all mean the same.  It is the Greek word “dunamis” which means "ability to perform". For the believers it is power to achieve by applying the Lord's inherent abilities. "Power through God's ability" is needed in every scene of life to really grow in sanctification and prepare for heaven (glorification).  No work of the Spirit in us means no life, no power!

Three things that will help us to stay connected to our POWER SOURCE:

  • the state or fact of remaining the same  under varying aspects or conditions.

  • the condition of being oneself or itself,  and not another.

  • condition or character as to who a person or  what a thing is.

  • the state or fact of being the same one as described.

  • exact likeness in nature or qualities.

What is our identity?

It is not about your position or your name or your title. It is who you are in Christ! We are God’s children! Most of the time we forget who we are in Christ! We act as if we are forsaken or orphans! We are not slaves!  Act as God’s child! Live as His child!

Romans 8:14-17  14For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. 15The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship.  And by him we cry,“Abba, Father.” 16The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

Antonyms of identity: difference, dissimilarity, opposition

The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity. Integrity means wholeness. It is the quality of possessing and steadfastly adhering to high moral principles or standards.  It is who you are when no one sees you. It is your credibility, your reliability. Integrity determines if you can be trusted. It is being true to your word, being pure. Sadly, many Christians fail in this area- Character. Once your character or integrity becomes questionable, everything that you do becomes questionable! Worst, even the one whom you worship becomes questionable to unbelievers, non-believers, even to believers! There is only one standard when it comes to integrity and that is the Word of God! (Psalm 119:9). You become more like Jesus by following His example and by always being with Him. When you enter his realm and live in that realm, you become more and more like Him.

Psalm 78:72 David shepherded them with integrity of heart; with skillful hands he led them.Integrity starts from the heart. It would be impossible to lead people without integrity!

Antonyms: Deceit, dishonesty, corruption, disgrace, dishonor, incompleteness, sin

2 Corinthians 6:14-15, 17-18

14Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?15What harmony is there between Christ and Belialb ? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?

17Therefore, “Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.”d18And,“I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”

Unbelievers heard the Message but did not believe.

Yoked together is the Greek word “heterozygéō “  which means "mismatched" is used figuratively of Christians wrongly committed to a partner holding very different values (priorities), that run contrary to faith (the kingdom of God). Separate is the Greek word “aphorízō” (from apó, "separated from" and horízō, "make boundaries") separate from a boundary.

LIVING A LIFE OF WORSHIP is impossible without the Spirit of GOD

resting in YOU!

Place Your Life Before God

Romans 12:1-2, (THE MESSAGE)  So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.

Deuteronomy 29:29(KJV)  The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.

Revelation invites us to go deeper! God loves to be sought after!

Deuteronomy 34:10(NIV) Since then, no prophet has risen in Israel like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face,

Knew here means to “to be one”. We keep up with integrity by intimacy!

1 Samuel  13:14  “But now your kingdom will not endure; the LORD has sought out a man after his own heart and appointed him ruler of his people, because you have not kept the LORD's command.“

David understood that being one with God means His will is his will! His heartbeat in rhythm with God’s heartbeat- knowing God!...Antonyms of intimacy: distance, coldness, coolness , reserve

Matthew 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

Cold is the Greek word “psýxō”  meaning to breathe cool by blowing, to grow cold, 'spiritual energy blighted or chilled by a malign or poisonous wind' "(used only in Mt 24:12). Identity assures us of who we are in God, integrity is a result of living a life through the Spirit, intimacy is a result of a worshiping heart! These three would help us connect to our Source to overflow!

Psalm 23:5-6  5You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.  6Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

1 Samuel 16:7,13 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”13So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David. Samuel then went to Ramah.

1 Samuel 17:45-47  45David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. 47All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.”

The River From the Temple

(Ezekiel 47:1-12)
1The man brought me back to the entrance to the temple, and I saw water coming out from under the threshold of the temple toward the east (for the temple faced east). The water was coming down from under the south side of the temple, south of the altar. 2He then brought me out through the north gate and led me around the outside to the outer gate facing east, and the water was trickling from the south side. 3As the man went eastward with a measuring line in his hand, he measured off a thousand cubits and then led me through water that was ankle-deep. 4He measured off another thousand cubits and led me through water that was knee-deep. He measured off another thousand and led me through water that was up to the waist. 5He measured off another thousand, but now it was a river that I could not cross, because the water had risen and was deep enough to swim in—a river that no one could cross. 6He asked me, “Son of man, do you see this? ”Then he led me back to the bank of the river. 7When I arrived there, I saw a great number of trees on each side of the river. 8He said to me, “This water flows toward the eastern region and goes down into the Arabah, where it enters the Dead Sea. When it empties into the sea, the salty water there becomes fresh. 9Swarms of living creatures will live wherever the river flows. There will be large numbers of fish, because this water flows there and makes the salt water fresh; so where the river flows everything will live. 10Fishermen will stand along the shore; from En Gedi to En Eglaim there will be places for spreading nets. The fish will be of many kinds—like the fish of the Mediterranean Sea. 11But the swamps and marshes will not become fresh; they will be left for salt. 12Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail. Every month they will bear fruit, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing.”

Eden Restored

Revelation 22:1-5  1Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb 2down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. 3No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. 4They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. 5There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.

Let it flow to you! Let it flow through you! Power bursting out from you affecting lives, producing life!

Live in His presence, you will never run dry! Establish His throne in your life- it will change you completely!
