Deeper and deeper

“WORSHIP is my heart's cry to You God!  It's my soul bursting out in awe of who You are! Being with You will never ever compare to anything! Because You are everything!  I want to breathe in, breathing and sharing every breath with You!”

by: Pastor Ranjee Salvacion

Seven is God’s number, it signifies completion! We are at the brink of the seventh month, the second half of the year! We are at midway! The beginning and the final part (or the climaxes) are important and striking, yet it would be incomplete without the middle part! We have declared the 7th month as the Power of Worship Month.

Genesis 1:31, 2-1:2-3  31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day. 1Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array. 2By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. 3Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.

God did not rest because He was tired. He rested because He completed His work! (SABBATH) What was the last He created?  MAN!  We made creation complete! For us Christians, we rest on the “Lord’s Day “. In Rev.1:10, the apostle John, used kyriake hemera    ("I was in the Spirit on the Lord's Day") in a way apparently familiar to his readers. Observers of first-day worship hold that this means he was worshiping on Sunday, resurrection day. –our first day is a day with the Lord, our “REST DAY”. We are an integral part of God’s Shabbat! No rest came, have there been no man!(Excerpts from Ptra. Cynthia’s teaching SPT in Baguio). Let our God be enthroned in our praises today! A seat of worship where He could rest and be with us!

Exodus 20:24-26  24“ ‘Make an altar of earth for me and sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, your sheep and goats and your cattle. Wherever I cause my name to be honored, I will come to you and bless you. 25 If you make an altar of stones for me, do not build it with dressed stones, for you will defile it if you use a tool on it. 26 And do not go up to my altar on steps, or your private parts may be exposed.’

We are the altar of earth, bringing our sacrifice of praise! Lifting our worship - our true and pure spiritual worship, sacrifice is not easy but it is never meant to be done in haste! It is never artificial or superficial! Without TRUE worship there will be no REVELATION! Needless to say this, Praise and Worship is the most important part of the Worship Service. Missing it or missing some parts of it means failure to complete the most important part! Failure to grasp His revelation! It is the door to God’s presence!

Psalm 100:4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. (KJV)

John 7:37-38  37On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. 38 Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”

Worship is a journey to go deeper.   It is progressive.

Exodus 25:9 9Make this tabernacle (resting place) and all its furnishings exactly like the pattern I will show you.

The tabernacle is divided into three parts- Outer Court, Holy Place and the Holy of Holies. God is three persons in one- Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.  Heaven has three levels, so is hell. Man is three partite-body, soul and spirit. Our atom has three parts!  Our infinity within our bodies is as vast as the infinity of the universe! God is showing threes to represent a Three-fold Progression of Maturity.

Proverbs 22:20(KJV) Have not I written to thee excellent things in counsels and knowledge,

The word excellent in this verse in Strong’s concordance means three, a three-fold measure. Jesus tore the veil, but He wanted us to understand this pattern of worship! Without holiness, without brokenness we can’t truly enjoy worship- from the Gates to the Holy of Holies! Worship is never about us! It is all about Him!

OUTER COURT represents the BODY (THE WAY)

Sacrifices are made in the outer court; the altar was made for it!  We can’t enter the presence of God without an offering! Jesus is the only way! Repentance and brokenness is what brings the Lord a pleasing aroma! It connects us to the next stage. It gives us access!

John 14:1-4, 6 1“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in Goda ; believe also in me. 2My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.4 You know the way to the place where I am going.” 6Jesus answered, “I am the WAY and the TRUTH and the LIFE. No one comes to the Father except through me.

What’s going on inside your head during worship? What makes you wander away? (Reasons; ang haba naman, di ko alam yung kanta, may lakad ako mamaya, may kinaiinisan etc.)

John 14:1 tells us that troubles should be kept out of our hearts- whether it is busyness or worries. In verse 2 He is telling us to focus on Him, not on the physical things- the disciples left their homes and way of living to follow Him and now, He is telling them He is leaving. In worship, we set our hearts, our minds, and our spirits only to Him. It is easy to say that and to claim that we do that. Jesus is telling us here that what He is lavishing us is far greater than where you are wandering away from Him.

John 14:6 6Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

He is the only way! Way speaks of a journey, a path.

The flesh, the offering should have been left out here!

This is where many Christians linger- the “Sacrifice Stage”. This blocks them to enter deeper into the TRUTH. (the more I seek you/hungry). Do not stop just seeing His feet!

HOLY PLACE represents our SOUL (THE TRUTH)

These things are found there:

  • Table of Shewbread- bread without yeast (NOTHING ARTIFICIAL)

  • The Lampstand- the only source of light there (HOLY SPIRIT)

  • Altar of Incense- intercession, fragrant worship (INTIMACY, oneness of heart with GOD)

This is the stage where no pretense can enter in, worship lead by the power of the Holy Spirit- communion and fellowship with Him.

John 4:23-24  23Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

Worship is the Greek word “proskuneo” which means…to go down on my knees to do obeisance.

("Bending or prostration of the body as a gesture of submission or respect"). To kiss the ground when prostrating before a superior, ready to fall down to adore on ones’ knees. Willingness to make all necessary physical gestures of obeisance. To what or who do we bow down to? Or are we “too high” to bow to Him? True worshippers speak of people who worship inside out!  It’s inside of you manifesting in your life, in your lifestyle!

TRUTH means FREEDOM (John 8:32)

Truth is not mere knowledge it is a substance! Let our soul worship Him without fallacy or deceit. Being emotional does not implore change! But the emotions, the flesh and the spirit should be lifted together only to Him- purely.

Psalm 84:2 2My soul longed and even yearned for the courts of the LORD; My heart and my flesh sing for joy to the living God.

Learn to command your soul to shift your focus only to God!

Psalm 103:1 1Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.

Truth in John 14:6 is the Greek word “aletheia” which means not illusion, reality, true to fact. It is from the word “alethes” which means unconcealed, worth of credit, truthful, attested because it is tested, what can’t be hidden. There’s nothing to hide in the presence of God! He enjoys this intimacy with you!

John 7:37-38 37On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. 38 Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”

Stop pretending you are truly worshiping when you are actually not! Stop pretending you are “okay”! Just expose yourself, your heart to Him! So that He can break you! Or else no change is visible in you! Only Jesus satisfies! Only hunger and thirst attracts God’s presence- this is faith of the soul that wants to enter deeper. A desperation- TRANSPARENCY! (Psalm 63)

Here we find the: Ark of the Covenant (Mercy Seat). The only light here is the fullness of His glory, His SHEKINAH GLORY! Unless you become dead in the flesh, it is impossible for you to enter in here! It is where GOD hails as the only authority! This place is for the humble! It is where He reveals His fullness, entering into Him perfects us because here we enter His perfection! There was no seat for man here, God seats alone on the throne of glory and righteousness. In the Old Testament, the high priest enters in once a year with bowed head, unsandalled feet and bells. Here no human voice is heard, only the voice of God.

The Lord intimately shares Himself to you here! Don’t just go for His presence! Be ready to find Him! Encounter God! In this level there is no more” you”, this is not a place for the disobedient, or for reasoning. It is all of Him here! There is no space that is not filled with Him, because He is all in all-He opened the way because He wants you to enjoy being with Him always! Here, it is not just the streams of worship that flows through you that takes you deep (Jn. 8:37-38) - it is His River of Life that flows and breaks into YOU! (Rev. 22:1-2). His presence is our health! Here He reveals the secrets of His heart to YOU- unmatched glory! The deepest part of all! Every part of you filled with who He is! Here we enter perfection- enjoy every moment!

“WORSHIP is my heart's cry to You God!  It's my soul bursting out in awe of who You are! Being with You will never ever compare to anything! Because You are everything!  I want to breathe in, breathing and sharing every breath with You!”

Let us rest in HIM as He finds a Resting Place in our WORSHIP- let it be His throne!

May He find a resting place in us! Let the waters rise! ENCOUNTER HIM DAILY.
